Iceland horses - Iceland gueshouse - Iceland Breeding- and trainingstable at Hof í Vatnsdal

On the 19th of july, a beautiful build stallionfoal. He has beautiful long legs and a very well placed neck. His colour of course doesn´t spoil the picture! His father Gári frá Auðsholtshjáleigu is proving himself as a breedingstallion and it will be very interesting to follow his off spring. Many get extreme high notes for building. I was hoping to improve the front of the off spring compared to Góa and so far so good! Góa has very good, clear gaits and I hope that the mixture of those two stallions will bring a superb fivegaited horse.

On the 2nd of july Varpa gave us another beautiful black marefoal!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures will follow when Varpa comes home again. The father of Varða is Gári frá Auðsholtshjáleigu. Varpa will be covered by the stallion Grásteinn frá Brekku.

On the 15th of june, our first marefoal! Really great. I love the colour of Prinsessa, black with the two stars, but so far she has never given a black (or brown) with just 1 single white hair. But today she gave us a black mare with a star. So beautiful. The little girl is born after lunchtime, when nobody expected her.

The father is the stallion Kjerúlf frá Kollaleiru. A very interesting stallion with 9 on the line as a fourgaiter. Last year he recieved 9,5 for trot. Personally I think Prinsessa and him are a perfect combination and I look very much forward to see what this foal will bring in the future!

Prinsessa will be covered by Glymur frá Innri-Skeljabrekku.

Ljósbrá & Laufi

Early morning on the 11th Ljósbrá gave birth a beautiful coloured stallion. Lovely, we think he is bluedun pinto with a star and it seems he will not turn white. Ljósbrá has given us very nice ridinghorses and it will be interesting to see how this little guy develops. His father is the stallion Kiljan frá Steinnesi. Kiljan was the nr. 2 at the last Landsmót in the class stallions 4y. old, with 8,41 as an overal score. He recieved 9 for pace, canter, temperament and hooves. Kiljan is after Klettur frá Hvammi and a first prize daughter of Kolfinnur frá Kjarnholtum.

Ljósbrá will be covered by the stallion Sveinn Hervar frá Þúfu

Kantata

The queen of the group was the first to give birth. Kantata gave us a beautiful little stallion. He is dark chestnut with a star but we believe he will turn white in the future. Kantata was the third highest judged mare in the 4y. old class in 2008. The father of the foal is Krummi frá Blesastöðum. Krummi recieved 8,53 as an overal score, thereoff 9,5 for tölt and 9 for trot, canter and temperament.
