2003

and the stallions we breed our mares to!

On this page we would like to introduce you to the foals born out of our breeding in the year 2003!

Ljósbrá & Leskja

On may 31st Ljósbrá gave birth to a black and white mare, Leskja. The father of Leskja is the stallion Kveikur frá Miðsitju. Kveikur is known in Iceland for giving very good horses when he is bred to big fourgaited mares like Ljósbrá. Kveikur is shown with 8,44 for riding and 8,25 as an overal score. The stallions from Miðsitju are proving themselves better and better every year and it is very interesting to see their off spring grow up!

Leskja is sold to Sweden.

Fríða & Ferja

Finally our last foal is born! A pleasant surprise, a chestnut mare with a white star! Her name is Ferja frá Hofi. The father of Ferja is Andvari frá Ey (f. Orri frá Þufu). A stallion who has recieved honoursaward for off spring. The mother of Ferja is Fríða, our oldest breedingmare, the off spring of Friða are easy to train have a superior tölt and very good characters!

Fríða will be covered by the 10 for tölt stallion Víkingur frá Voðmúlastaðir.

Ferja is sold to Denmark.

Aska & Arfur

On april the 29th Aska was the first mare to give birth this year. The father of this beautiful silver dapple stallion is Eiður frá Oddhóli. A highly judged stallion with 9,5 for tölt!

Aska will be covered by Sveinn Hervar frá Þufu.

Prinsessa & Póstur

On may the 9th early in the morning Póstur was born. His mother is the first prize mare Prinsessa (f. Hrafn frá Holtsmúla). The father is the stallion Eiður frá Oddhóli.

Prinsessa will be covered by Parker frá Sólheimum

Klóra & Klakkur

Klóra is a young and promising mare (f. Kormákur frá Flugumýri), last year we bred her to the stallion Óður frá Brún with the result here above! Next year we plan to start the training of Klóra.

Esja & Espur

Esja is a 4y. old mare that gave birth to her first foal. Esja is a daughter of Kolfinnur frá Kjarnholtum. We plan to start her training next year and keep her as a breedingmare at our farm in the future. Espur is a son of Óður frá Brún.
