Our foals in

2005

and the stallions we breed our mares to!

On this page we would like to introduce you to the foals born out of our breeding in the year 2005! If you click on the picture of the foal you will recieve information about the mother and her off spring.

Klóra

Klóra was shown at the second breedingshow in august. Things went quite well and she recieved 8,02 as an overal score. Klóra is fourgaited though she recieved 7,0 for pace. Her rider is convinced that she will grow into a very good competition horse for the töltclass if the training would continue. We decided though to breed her to the son of Keilir frá Miðsitju: Álfasteinn frá Selfossi. Álfasteinn is a georgeous pinto stallion with 8,40 for riding only 4y. old! His average score is 8,33

Fríða & Frú

On the 8th of june our last foal arrived. Fríða gave birth to a little mare! The father of the little girl is Trúr frá Kjartansstöðum. Trúr is out of Óður frá Brún and the famous mare Þerna frá Kirkjubæ.

Fríða will be covered by the Landsmótwinner Rökkvi frá Hárlaugsstöðum. Rökkvi recieved 9,5 for trot and looks under rider. For tölt, canter and temperament he recieved 9,0.

Þokkadís & Koldís

Þokkadís we own half. This spring she had a beautiful black marefoal after Adam frá Ásmundarstöðum. The name of the little foal is Koldís. Þokkadís we breed to the stallion Trúr frá Auðholtshjáleigu. Trúr is a highly judged stallion after Orri frá Þufu and out of a mother from Hrafn frá Holtsmúla. Trúr recieved 8,42 for riding when he was only 4y. old!

Þokkadís is one of our most promising breedingmares. Her parents are the famous Þrá frá Hólum and Fáni frá Hafsteinsstöðum.

Ljósbrá & Nunna

What a surpise! On may the 30th there was a black and white little foal standing in the field, and again a mare! The father of Nunna is the stallion Adam frá Ásmundarstöðum, the stallion who won the fivegaited class at the Landsmót 2002. Adam has an average score of 8,36

Ljósbrá will be covered by the blue dun fourgaited son of Andvari frá Ey named Kolviður frá Skeiðháholti.

Gína & Regina

On may the 27th there was another little girl! I am not sure, but maybe she will turn white like her father in time. Gína is a 4y. old mare after Kjarval frá Sauðárkróki and Gjóta frá Hofi. She is a mare we expect to grow into a great breedingmare. Kjarval is known for giving daughters who pass on to their off spring a very good tölt, they are big and goodlooking and have lots of mane, last but not least they have superb characters! The father of the little girl is Hrymur frá Hofi. A first prize stallion out of our own breeding, Hrymur has recieved 9 for tölt, trot, canter and looks under rider. Hrymur is a fourgaited stallion.

Aska & Abbadís

The third foal arrived on the 23th of may! Another filly after the mare Aska and honoursaward for off spring stallion Þorri frá Þúfu. Þorri is the first son of Orri frá Þúfu who got well known in Iceland. He has given many superb horses, like the mare Gleði frá Prestbakka, which was unbelievable good at very young age.

Aska will be covered by the fourgaited pinto stallion Gammur frá Steinnesi. Which recieved 9 for tölt, trot and looks under rider. Gammur´s off spring are started under the saddle now and they have very good character, easy tölt and a more than average action.

Varpa & Valva

On May the 19th our second foal has arrived. Varpa showed us a little mare! A chocolatebrown charming little thing. Her father is Óður frá Brún.

Varpa will be covered this summer by the fourgaited chestnut stallion Eldjárn frá Tjarnarhólum. In the summer of 2004 one of the most promising 4y. old stallions. He got 9 for tölt, trot, character and looks under rider.

Prinsessa & Páfi

On may the 10th Prinsessa gave birth to a ravenblack stallion. The father of the foal is the first prize stallion Óður frá Brún, who is well know for the superb tölt he inherits to his off spring. Óður recieved not less as 8,90 for riding himself. And has many times been in front at fivegaited competitions. Páfi is showing a lot of fine tölt when running in the field, like his pedigree promises!

Prinsessa will be covered by the topstallion Glampi frá Vatnsleysu.

The future foal is bred and owned by a breeder from Germany.

Fasta

Fasta is a first prize mare, judged with 8,16. She is after the stallion Numi frá Þórroddsstöðum and Fríða frá Hofi. Numi has been judged in Iceland again this year and equaled the WorldRecord of the highest average in breedingshow of 8,66!

We start using her for breeding this year, she will be covered by the stallion Orri frá Þufu. Toooooooooooo bad, Fasta was not pregnant. So we brought her to Kolviður frá Skeiðháholti..................
