Our foals in

2006

and the stallions we breed our mares to!

If you click on the first picture of each mare or foal you get more information about the mother.

Ţokkadís & Ţurrkur

In the morning of juli the 21st the last foal of this year arrived. We could see them out of our window, a chestnut little stallion. His father is Trúr frá Auđsholtshjáleigu. Trúr was shown and recieved 8,35 as an overal score, there of 8,59 for riding. Trúr also has started to compete in fivegait, he is very promising and recieves high notes, even though he is young and has little experience.

Klóra & Augasteinn

On saturday the 15th of july Klóra surprised us with a very funny coloured little stallion. His name will be Augasteinn. Maybe he is carrying the splashgene, time will tell.

His father is Álfasteinn frá Selfossi, a beautiful first prize stallion who recieved 8,63 for riding, only 5y. old. His overal score is 8,48. The mother of Augasteinn  is Klóra, a first prize mare after Kormákur frá Flugumýri.

Fríđa & Fjölnir

On the 20th of june a little stallion was born. Chestnut with a snipe. Fríđa is our oldest mare and we were very happy that we were there when Fjölnir was born! The father of Fjölnir is Rökkvi frá Hárlaugsstöđum.

Unfortunately after two days Fjölnir died. Fríđa had a very difficult delivery (Jón was with her) and most likely is that the foal has gotten damage with the delivery......

Fríđa will be covered by the son of Orri Gaumur frá Auđsholtshjáleigu. Gaumur was in 3rd place at the Landsmót in his class. He recieved 8,55 (5y. old) as an overal score. Where for riding 8,84. 9,5 for temperament, 9 for tölt, trot and looks under rider.

Prinsessa

Unfortunately Prinsessa lost her foal after Glampi frá Vatnsleysu. This year she will be covered by Kormákur frá Flugumýri. Kormákur is a stallion with a superb pedigree and is proving himself as a high quality breedinghorse. Both his parents recieved honoursaward for off spring. And there will not pass by many years before Kormákur recieves this honour to. Kormákur is judged with 8,30 as an overal score.

Góa

Góa is a mare we will start using as a breedingmare from next season. She has been in training the last year and the goal was to show her on the breedingshow. Góa recieved 8,12 as an overal score. 8,5 for tölt, trot and character and temperament. She will participate in the 6y. old class for mares at the Landsmót.

Ljósbrá & Lögg

On the second of june our third marefoal arrived. A beautiful yellow dun filly with a stunishing blaze! Her father is the son of Andvari frá Ey, named Kolviđur frá Skeiđháholti. He has recieved 9,0 for tölt, pace, character and looks under rider. His overal score is 8,33

Ljósbrá will be covered by the Orri son Rođi frá Múla.

Fasta & Kosning

On the 27th of may, the day of the elections here in Iceland,  our second foal arrived. We were very pleased to see that Fasta ownes a beautiful chestnut fillie!

Fasta will be covered by the stallion Adam frá Ásmundarstöđum.

Aska & Arđa

Our first foal!!! We have been waiting for her to arrive. On may the 24th at lunchtime a little girl came. She has waited until the snowstorm lowered his force and while a light breeze was still passing through the valley Aska gave birth. The father of this nice blue dun filly is the stallion Gammur frá Steinnesi. Aska will be bred again to Gammur this summer.

Varpa

Unfortunately Varpa lost her foal during the pregnancy. She was pregnant with the stallion Eldjárn frá Tjarnarhólum. I really regret this foal as I was hoping for a really good fourgaited horse. But that´s life. Varpa is with a son of Orri, Gári frá Auđsholtshjáleigu at the moment. Gári got the magnificent number of 8,91 for building, his overal score is 8,63
